What to Do on Your Wedding Day

The bride is one of the most important people in the wedding party. Her best friends are her support system through thick and thin, and she is likely to have many opinions on the big day. She is going to be excited and elated, but she will also be nervous.

It is customary for bridesmaids to present gifts to the bride before the ceremony. The gift should be something that is personal and unique to her. It could be a picture frame with a sentimental message or a bracelet with the date of her wedding written on it. Another option is a personalized bride-to-be shirt or mug. This is a great way to show her how much you care about her.

Many brides choose to change into a different dress for the reception. This allows them to dance the night away with their guests and have fun! She may even wear a shorter version of her wedding gown so that she can move more freely. This is a good opportunity to compliment her on her beautiful body!

While it isn’t required, it is always nice for the bride to have someone give her away during her ceremony. This can be a parent, a sibling, an aunt or uncle, or a close friend. However, it is up to the bride and groom to decide who should be her give away on their special day.

In the past, some cultures had rituals for the bride as she was escorted to her new home by her groom or his parents. Often times the bride would be strewn with flowers, nuts or fruit as a sign of fertility. Some brides still carry this tradition and will be adorned with these symbols of abundance.

Once the couple makes their entrance into the reception, it’s time for everyone to start celebrating! The bride and groom will typically enter first followed by the flower girls or ring bearers. Then the maid of honor and best man will join them. Finally, the entire bridal party will walk down the aisle in reverse order of how they entered.

After the recessional song, the bride and groom can enjoy the celebrations with their guests. They will most likely have a first dance, toasts from their loved ones and even play some fun games like the shoe game! It is so much fun to have all of your friends and family cheer you on as you begin this amazing journey together. This is the most special day of your life, so make sure to smile all day long! Even if your face hurts from a thousand pictures!
