Farewell From Mia! <3

July 1, 2016

It was a marketing internship that brought me to The Bridal Emporium and into Claire’s family. Instantly impressed by the lavish dressing of the shopfloor, the precision which dictated the luxurious displays, I fell madly in love with the very idea of the business at my initial interview. Incredibly inviting, the space seemed to whip up dream-like connotations; a shop floor so luscious; amid soft, creamy drapes.

The Claire Amelia multi-way bridal dresses were impressively displayed on mannequins throughout boasting numerous intricate ways to wear. Another first impression: the shop floor alone displayed an incredible selection of sumptuous stock. Claire Amelia herself was warm, funny and we were both at ease from the get-go.

The interview process illuminated some of Claire’s background; revealing how The Bridal Emporium had built up from the ground. We bonded, having studied at the same university and being based in Leeds and I got to see inside Claire’s self-made ‘emporium’.

What customers probably cannot accurately envisage, when calling by The Bridal Emporium and sounding the doorbell, is an accurate representation of what goes on upstairs in the studio. The heart of the business; Claire Amelia’s workshop sees up to four or five staff at a time working on every imaginable aspect of the business. Interns like myself work on schedules, blog posts and mailing lists whilst dressmakers aid Claire Amelia’s processes as she works through any number of tasks during a day. What I was lucky enough to experience in this workshop was a real sense of family spirit.

Whilst completing momentous tasks, developing: patterns, marketing strategies, a collective ‘look’ for personal collections, connections with local suppliers as well as working through multitudes of alteration pieces, the team remains a reliably close knit working group. My experience working with this team has been one of my most rewarding ones. Never have I been made to feel so included within a creative team; so encouraged to share and develop ideas.

For an unsurpassable bridal experience, there simply is no other place to turn. The Bridal Emporium caters for the bride and or/bridesmaids who are seeking out personalised service alongside a down to earth, creative vision. Thank you everyone. Good luck with everything!
